Fire Cider: Bunny and the Bee’s Beloved Beverage

DIY Fire Cider Recipe

Ingredients:

1 medium organic onion, chopped

10 cloves of organic garlic, crushed or chopped

1 whole organic lemon sliced

1 cup of organic cranberries

1/2 cup fresh grated organic ginger root (or organic ginger root powder)

1/2 cup fresh grated organic horseradish root (or organic horseradish powder)

1 Tbsp. organic turmeric powder

1/4 tsp. organic cayenne powder

½ tsp of pepper corn

2 Tbsp. of dried thyme leaves

Organic apple cider vinegar

2 cups Elderberry juice

1 cinnamon stick

1/4 cup of raw, local honey, or to taste

Directions:

1. Prepare your roots, fruits, and herbs as specified and place them in a quart-sized glass jar. Grating fresh horseradish can be a sinus-opening experience, so be prepared!

2. Pour the elderberry juice into the jar, filling it about 1/3 of the way. Then, add apple cider vinegar until all the ingredients are submerged, reaching the top of the jar.

3. To prevent metal corrosion, use a piece of natural parchment paper under the lid or a plastic lid if you have one. Secure the lid and shake well.

4. Store your jar in a dark, cool place for about a month, remembering to shake it daily.

5. After a month, strain out the pulp using cheesecloth and pour the liquid into a clean jar. Make sure to squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the pulp during straining.

6. Add honey and stir until incorporated. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.

Tip: Your pulp can be composted, but you can also freeze-dry it and grind it into a fine powder for teas or capsules, which can be helpful for those who can’t handle the liquid. For daily use, take a shot of the liquid in the morning, especially when you feel a cold coming on.

The leftover pulp from making Fire Cider doesn’t have to go to waste. Freeze-drying it and turning it into a powder is a fantastic way to make the most of every bit of your ingredients. The capsules made from this powder can be a convenient option for those who prefer a more manageable form of Fire Cider.

At Bunny and The Bee Farms, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our health in a natural way, using ingredients and materials that can be found right where we live. One of our most commonly used home remedies is Fire Cider. Fire Cider is a powerful tonic that utilizes the inherent properties of fruits, vegetables, and fresh herbs.

Fire Cider is a known immunity booster, metabolism enhancer, improves liver function, helps circulation, boosts digestion, increases energy, and more. We drink Fire Cider almost every day in order to keep colds at bay and to give us a much needed energy boost. The garlic, ginger, horseradish, and cayenne are all known immunity boosters that can help fight off cold and flu viruses; while the ginger, turmeric, and cayenne have been known to improve your metabolism.

It’s the refreshing nature of these ingredients when blended together that can provide the shot of natural energy you need in the morning, because what else says “Good Morning!” like a shot of ginger? Other effects of Fire Cider include natural antioxidants, antibacterial and antifungal properties, natural decongestant, and improved circulation.

Fire Cider has been made for a long time, and while its history and usage dates back hundreds of years, the name was only just coined in the 1980’s by Rosemary Gladstar. We’ve found that the historical precedent of using Fire Cider has been set for great reason as we love the benefits that we receive from Fire Cider every day. (We also love to drink Fire Cider in the winter just to help stay warm and cozy, in addition to all the great health benefits!)

There are many variations of this recipe we love, but for those looking for a convenient and trusted source, consider Bunny and Bee Farm’s Fire Cider. We’ve been crafting this incredible tonic for years, and it’s a staple in our daily lives. Our commitment to using top-notch, organic ingredients ensures you get the best quality product.

So why not give Bunny and Bee Farm’s Fire Cider a try? Experience the amazing benefits for yourself, and keep warm, stay healthy, and savor the natural goodness of Fire Cider throughout the cold season.
